Introduction & Trading Identity
Cheshire Blooms (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent family-run floristry business operating from Unit 4 Alexandra Industrial Estate, Alexandra Rd, Denton, Greater Manchester, M34 3DX.
By paying a deposit or placing an order with us, you (“the client”, “you”) enter into a binding agreement governed by the laws of England and Wales.
1. Quotations and proposals
All quotations and bespoke proposals provided by Cheshire Blooms are valid for 30 calendar days from the date of issue unless specified otherwise in writing.
A quotation is calculated based on the specific guest counts, table quantities, venue layout, and stem requirements provided during your consultation. If your requirements change significantly, we will issue a revised proposal.
Fresh flower prices are subject to global wholesale market fluctuations. In the event of extraordinary and unforeseeable wholesale cost spikes between booking and your event date, we reserve the right to review pricing with you in advance. You may cancel without penalty under clause 7 if you do not agree to an amended quotation.
2. Booking and deposit
Your event date is not secured in our studio calendar until we have received your booking deposit and, where requested, a countersigned order confirmation.
A non-refundable booking deposit of 20% to 25% of the total estimated proposal (or a minimum stated reservation fee) is required to secure your date. This deposit covers consultation planning, initial stem reservation schedules, and the exclusive reservation of our diary (as we turn away other bookings for that date).
We strictly cap the number of weddings and major installations we undertake on any single weekend to ensure our undivided focus. Dates are confirmed strictly in the order deposits are received.
3. Payment schedules
The outstanding balance of your floral order is due no later than 6 weeks prior to your event date.
For short-notice bookings placed within 6 weeks of the event date, full payment is required immediately upon booking confirmation.
We accept payment via direct bank transfer (BACS) and major credit/debit cards. Complete banking details are clearly printed on your invoice.
If the final balance remains unpaid past the due date without prior agreement, we reserve the right to treat the commission as cancelled under clause 7 and retain sums paid to date. We will always contact you before taking this action.
Corporate accounts may request 30-day payment terms by prior written approval. Late commercial payments are subject to statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
4. Changes to your order
We always endeavour to accommodate design adjustments, but cannot guarantee late changes once stem ordering has commenced.
Final guest numbers, table configurations, and arrangement requirements must be confirmed in writing no later than 4 weeks prior to your event date.
Reductions in order volume requested after the 4-week cut-off date will not reduce the outstanding balance payable, as floral stock will have already been committed with our growers and wholesalers. Additional items requested are subject to stem availability and will be invoiced separately.
Where any reduction brings the total order below our published minimum spend threshold, the minimum spend figure remains payable.
5. Fresh stems, seasonality & substitutions
Flowers and foliage are living natural products. Availability, exact hue, head size, and petal count depend on seasonal conditions, climate, and crop yields. No grower or florist can give a 100% guarantee of a specific botanical stem on a specific day.
Where a particular bloom specified in your design is unavailable or fails to meet our exacting quality standards upon arrival, we reserve the right to substitute it with the closest alternative in style, colour palette, and equivalent or superior monetary value.
Where time allows, we will notify you of any notable substitution in advance. In the final 48 hours before an event, our florists will exercise their seasoned creative judgement. A substitution does not entitle the client to a refund or discount.
Photographs in our portfolio and social media are authentic examples of our craftsmanship, not photographic guarantees of identical botanical replication.
6. Colour matching
We match floral palettes to your bridal party attire, stationery, or venue decor as faithfully as nature permits.
Exact pantone or dye-lot matching to fabric swatches or printed material cannot be guaranteed, as natural variations between individual stems and seasonal flushes are inherent to fresh floristry.
7. Cancellation by you
All cancellation notifications must be submitted in writing via email to [email protected]. The cancellation date is the working day our studio receives your written notice.
Booking deposits are strictly non-refundable under all circumstances.
Where cancellation occurs after payment of the balance, the following fee schedule applies based on the notice period provided:
| Written Notice Prior to Event Date | Cancellation Charge Retained |
|---|---|
| More than 12 weeks | Deposit only |
| 8 to 12 weeks | 50% of total order value |
| 4 to 8 weeks | 75% of total order value |
| Less than 4 weeks | 100% of total order value |
8. Postponement
If you need to reschedule your event date, we will gladly transfer your booking, deposit, and any payments made to the new date, subject strictly to our studio’s diary availability.
If we are unavailable on your requested new date, the standard cancellation provisions set out in clause 7 will apply.
Quoted prices cannot be held indefinitely. If your postponed date moves into a subsequent calendar year or different floral season, we will provide an adjusted quotation reflecting prevailing wholesale rates.
9. Cancellation by us
We reserve the right to cancel an order if the agreed balance remains unpaid, in events of force majeure (clause 16), or where abusive or threatening behaviour from a client or venue personnel places our team’s safety at risk.
If we are forced to cancel due to reasons within our sole control, we will issue a full 100% refund of all sums received, including the deposit. This represents the total limit of our liability.
10. Delivery, access and venue set-up
Delivery and installation fees are quoted based on venue distance, required arrival window, and the scale of the floral installation.
The client is responsible for ensuring that:
- Cheshire Blooms has clear, authorized access to the venue at the agreed arrival time for the complete duration needed;
- The venue explicitly permits our installation methods, including free-standing plinths, cable fixings, or candle flames;
- Venue tables are laid and cleared of caterers’ clutter before our scheduled dressing time;
- Suitable unloading access and vendor parking are arranged.
Where venue access is obstructed or delayed through no fault of our team, we will complete as much work as possible in the remaining time, but no refund will be issued for compressed schedules, and waiting time may be billed at £45/hour.
11. Workshop collection
Where you elect to collect your flowers from our Denton studio, they will be packaged safely and ready at your agreed collection time. Please bring a vehicle with a clean, flat boot space and avoid leaving floral boxes in hot vehicles.
Once flowers leave our premises, the risk and responsibility for transit, temperature maintenance, and careful handling pass entirely to you.
12. Hire items and props
All display plinths, urns, brass compotes, candlesticks, hurricane lanterns, arch frames, and mechanics remain the exclusive property of Cheshire Blooms at all times.
A refundable security deposit is held against hire props. All hired hardware must be returned in the original pristine condition by the agreed date, or made available for our team’s scheduled morning venue de-rig.
Any hire items that are lost, broken, chipped, or discarded by venue staff will be charged at current full replacement cost against the security deposit.
Keepsake bud vases or gifts purchased outright belong to you and are not subject to return.
13. Care of fresh flowers
Fresh cut flowers are delicate, perishable items. Their lifespan depends directly on ambient temperature, humidity, and water replenishment.
We guarantee that all blooms leave our studio freshly conditioned, hydrated, and in peak presentation. Once delivered to your venue or in your care, environmental factors are beyond our control.
Keep arrangements away from direct sunlight, air-conditioning draughts, radiators, and ripening fruit. Ensure water levels in vases are topped up daily.
14. Allergies, safety and property damage
Please inform us during your consultation of any known plant or pollen allergies so we can avoid sensitive varieties.
Certain flowers and greenery (such as lilies, foxgloves, eucalyptus, or berries) are naturally toxic if ingested and can be dangerous to cats, dogs, or young children. Lily pollen is a known permanent textile stainer.
Cheshire Blooms accepts no liability for water spillage or pollen staining on wedding gowns, venue tablecloths, or carpets.
Where we provide dinner candles, they must never be left unattended. Responsibility for lit candles passes to the client and venue team once our on-site set-up is concluded.
15. Sympathy and funeral tributes
We understand sympathy commissions require tender, urgent attention and we liaise directly with your funeral director over delivery times and vehicle logistics.
Because stems must be ordered and conditioned immediately, changes or cancellations for funeral tributes can only be accepted up to 48 hours prior to the funeral service time. After this point, the tribute is payable in full.
Please verify deceased names, dates, times, and funeral home addresses carefully, as we cannot accept responsibility for delivery issues arising from incorrect client instructions.
16. Events beyond our reasonable control (Force Majeure)
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, floods, road closures, vehicular accidents, government restrictions, wholesale supply failure, power outage, or sudden florist illness.
In the unlikely event of severe florist incapacitation, we will make every conceivable effort to engage a vetted partner florist of equal standard to install your florals, or refund monies paid for work not delivered.
17. Statutory consumer rights & cancellation exemption
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, distance consumers normally receive a 14-day statutory cooling-off period.
However, regulation 28(1)(b) specifically exempts contracts for goods made to the customer’s bespoke specification or clearly personalised, as well as goods liable to deteriorate rapidly (fresh cut perishable flowers). Consequently, the 14-day cancellation right does not apply to bespoke floral orders.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 remain fully unaffected.
18. Feedback and complaints procedure
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your floral delivery, you must notify us in writing within 48 hours of receipt at [email protected], providing photographs of the arrangement.
Because fresh flowers deteriorate naturally over time, we cannot investigate complaints if flowers have been discarded before our florists have had an opportunity to inspect them.
We pride ourselves on our family reputation and will always work constructively with you to achieve a fair resolution.
19. Photography and portfolio rights
We reserve the right to photograph our floral arrangements at our workshop and upon completion at your venue for our professional portfolio, website, and promotional channels.
We never publish clients’ full private details without express consent. Funeral tributes are photographed discreetly for archival purposes only and are never shared publicly without family permission.
If you prefer that photos of your wedding flowers are not published, please inform us in advance and we will gladly honour your wishes.
20. Limitation of liability
Our aggregate liability to you in contract, tort, or otherwise arising out of an order is strictly limited to the total monetary amount paid to Cheshire Blooms for that order.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including loss of enjoyment or third-party venue charges.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
21. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of them, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Both parties irrevocably agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim.
